Welcome to the Closter YA page!

What is YA?

“YA” stands for Young Adult. Our YA programs are open to anyone in grades 5 and up, and our YA collection has a wide range of fiction for varying reading and maturity levels.  The YA fiction books are all located in the Young Adult Room, while YA non-fiction can be found filed with the adult non-fiction. In addition to books, we also have YA audio books, graphic novels, and magazines available for teens to borrow. In addition, Closter Public Library is a member of the Bergen County Cooperative Library System (BCCLS). As a member of BCCLS, Closter residents with valid library cards are able to request and borrow items from other libraries within BCCLS. Check out www.bccls.org for more information.

The library provides a comfortable space for everyone. Please help us on your end by adhering to our behavior policy.

There are fourteen computers available for teens to use the Internet, create projects and documents for school, and an additional three computers to access the BCCLS catalog and our databases. Between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm priority is given to school work on all library computers. The computers in the Young Adult Room may be used for gaming or recreational use at all times. Free Internet access is available throughout the library. The Library does not monitor or control information accessed through the Internet, and cannot be responsible for its content.

There are several programs available for YAs to attend throughout the year. For more about our programs, check the Calendar and Upcoming Events link or contact Emily at cltrkids@bccls.org or (201) 768-4197.
