Ruth Rando - Director, MLS I have the best job in the best town! During and after graduate school, I worked for New York Public Library. Then I got married, moved to New Jersey, and worked in a school library. After having children, I went back to my first love, the Public Library, and continue to enjoy the challenges and fulfillment of this career! |
Janet - Adult Services, MLS Since moving from Queens, New York to Bergen County, I have worked at the Closter Public Library. I really enjoy the diversity of the work at the library and the people! |

Laura DeAngelis - Head of Youth Services, MLS Closter has given me such a warm welcome! I have been having a wonderful time getting to know you and your children, and I hope to see you all in the library soon. -- "Good children's literature appeals not only to the child in the adult, but the adult in the child." -- |

Deborah Leary - Head of Circulation I've spent most of my life with a book in one hand and a knitting needle in the other. After 16 years working in bookstores, I saw the opportunity to join the staff here at Closter Library and jumped at the chance. I'm very excited to be part of this wonderful organization. |
Nancy Anderson - Circulation After retiring, I came here to enjoy the companionship of both the public and my fellow employees. I wanted to give something back to my community! |
Diane Brecher - Storytimes Since moving to Closter in the years when the dinosaur (not the deer) roamed the streets, I have called the library my second home. As a mother, I brought my children to the library to complete homework assignments and choose books to read. As a teacher, I came weekly to select books for my class. And now as the storytime storyteller, I search the shelves for books to read to my classes. |

Lynda Cregan-Meier - Circulation I volunteered in 2005 to help get the library up to speed for its grand opening. Then Ruth Rando asked if I would like to come on board as a part time library assistant by "pinchhitting" for another library assistant who had to take a leave of absence. Later I was asked to take over the staff schedule. I was thrilled to be given the opportunity and to work with a great group of people in a wonderful new environment. |
Zenaida Cruz - Book Processing I've been at the library for about 9 years. I like to work in the library doing everything (especially processing books). I really like the people here - everyone here is so nice! |

Yie Lee Liu - Circulation As a resident of Closter for over twenty years, I have always wanted to get involved in the community. I am a people person and enjoy reading, so the Closter Library came to mind. I started volunteering and then began working part-time. The Library has many nice people, offers rich resources, and is a beautiful environment. I'm very lucky to be able to participate in the community while doing something I love. |
Roberta Murphy - Circulation When I retired from my full-time position, I looked for a spot of volunteer work and since I have lived in Closter for over 40 years, I turned to the Closter Library. After a couple of years as a volunteer, I was asked to join the staff on a part-time basis at the circulation desk where I continue to enjoy helping our patrons. |

Kay Hyde After retiring from Telescript in 1995 - the company my late husband and I formed in 1957 - I needed to fill my days with something meaningful. Thus the volunteer phase of my life began. First, the Paramus Blood Bank, then the Closter Library followed by Valley Hospital's Gift Shop. All of the above, plus the two choral groups in which I participate have more than filled my life with joy and purpose. |

Jean Lichtneger I have been a Closter resident for 60 years and have always felt that the Public Library is an important part of our town. Because of this, when I retired I wanted to volunteer for what I felt was a worthy cause. I have been here for almost 14 years and enjoy my time here very much, especially since the renovation and expansion of the building. And I still feel the library is an important part of Closter. |
