Reserves and Renewals

Feel Free to Reserve or Renew Library Materials!
  • Requests can be made via the BCCLS homepage at www.bccls.org, the telephone at (201) 768-4197, or in person here at the library.
  • When you place a request through the BCCLS homepage, if you do NOT want to be notified via email when the item arrives, you MUST check the "No" box by the option on the request form that reads "Send e-mail when available". If
you WOULD like to be notified by email, make sure that your email address
appears automatically on the request form. If it doesn't, you have not provided us with your email address, and
you will need to enter it manually into the request form. Additionally, please contact us and provide us with your email address so that we can speed up the loan process for you.
  • As long as no one else is waiting for them, you can renew Closter materials up to two times. You can go online
to the BCCLS homepage and renew your materials yourself through your online account (you will need your 4-digit PIN to do this) or we can renew them for you either by phone or in person at the library.
  • We are also able to renew out-of-town materials, although rental periods and the number of allowed renewals will vary depending on the item's home library.
  • Please limit your requests to three a day.

Book Returns

Please Return Your Books!
  • Please return materials on time so others may borrow them.
  • During library hours, please return your books in the return slot located inside the library at the front desk.
  • If you are returning books when the library is closed, please place your materials in the book drop just outside the front door.
  • If you return Closter materials late, you will be charged only 10¢ per day per item - that's the cheapest overdue fee in the area! However, please be careful - the fines are generated by the home library of the borrowed item, and not everyone charges 10¢!

Lost Items

  • If you lose an item and are unable to return it to the library, your library privileges will be suspended until you either pay a replacement fee or provide the library with a new copy of the item.
  • If you find the item within 30 days of payment, you will receive your money back less five dollars.

  • The quiet study area is located at the far back right of the library and includes the periodical section.
  • This area is designed to provide our patrons with a quiet location where they can work without distractions.
  • Accordingly, there is absolutely NO talking allowed in this area.
  • Please respect your fellow library users and keep the study area quiet! They'll love you for it!

  • There is a small fee of 10¢ per black-and-white page and 25¢ per color page on both the printer and the copy machine.
  • The copy-machine is located at the back left of the library near the computers.

  • Please pay for your copies at the front desk.

Internet Access

  • Cablevision kindly provides the library with internet access for desktop computers and wireless internet access for personal laptop computers.
  • Although we do provide wireless internet access for your use, we are not qualified to provide technical support. If you have any problems with accessing the wireless internet service, please let us know and we will have someone look into the matter.
  • The content sent across the internet is not secure. For your protection, please restart your computer when you have finished your session.
Please Return Your Books!

Computer Use

Please Return Your Books!
  • If you wish to use a library computer to play a game that requires internet access or must first be downloaded from the internet, please use the Game Station computers located within the Young Adult room - they're chiefly devoted to fulfilling the needs of our gaming community!
  • To try to accomodate the computer-heavy needs of our patrons, all of our computers are reserved for school, work, or library-related activities on weekdays between 3 and 5 p.m.

Please be respectful of others while in the library!

Gumwrappers, ringing cell phones, and shouting can disrupt other patrons and detract from their library experience.

Help us keep the library a pleasant and peaceful environment that everyone can enjoy!
