Summer Book-Out!
The Summer Reading Club at the Closter Library

In celebration of reading and to kick off the library's summer reading program, we held a summer cook-out (book-out) open to all participants in the reading program. Over 100 students showed up and enjoyed the hot dogs, watermelon, and lemonade, courtesy of the library!

Mayor Sophie Heymann joined us to celebrate the 50th birthday of Dr. Seuss's classic piece The Cat in the Hat. Close to a hundred children from the Jack in the Box program turned out to enjoy the festivities!

Author Tali Klein joined us for a very special storytime class! Reading her fantastic new book Hop! Plop!, she livened up our regular storytime hours with her lively personality and enthusiasm! The children were thrilled, and she even stayed to help them out with the weekly craft projects!

Close to one hundred people showed up at the Closter Library to see Ellen Burstyn speak about her new autobiography, Lessons in Becoming Myself. The event was a huge success, and Ellen was nice enough to stay for a while after her lecture to sign copies of her book for the guests!
